fisd board approves staff raises for 2025-2026

Floresville, TX — Floresville ISD is proud to announce substantial pay increases as part of the 2025-2026 Operating Budget and Employee Compensation Plan, reinforcing the district’s continued commitment to rewarding the exceptional service of its staff and retaining high-quality talent across all campuses and departments. The Floresville ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the budget and compensation plan during a special board meeting on Wednesday, June 25.

Key highlights of the plan include:

  • $8,000 + step raise for teachers with 5 or more years of service

  • $4,000 + step raise for teachers with 3 or 4 years of service

  • Step raise for teachers with 0 to 2 years of service

  • 6% raise for all clerical, paraprofessional, and auxiliary staff

  • 6% raise for bus drivers + an hourly pay increase of $2.50, with 6.5 hours per day guaranteed

  • 7% raise for identified professional staff in pay grades 1-5

  • 4% raise for all other professional staff in pay grades 5-8

  • 3% raise for professional staff in pay grade 9

  • $20 increase per day for all substitute teachers

  • $50 increase toward monthly health insurance premiums. The district’s total contribution will be $400 per month.

Through the new budget and compensation plan, Floresville ISD is investing in its long-term goals of fostering a superior workplace environment and strategic resource management. Raises for classroom teachers are funded through the recent passage of House Bill 2. While HB2 provided limited funding for non-teachers, the district has allocated an additional $929,484 from the local budget to ensure every staff member receives a competitive raise.

"We are proud to invest in the teachers and staff who make Floresville ISD a great place for our students every single day," said School Board President Stephen Shodrock. "The Board recognizes that every role is valuable, and providing a substantial increase in compensation for every employee was one of our top priorities. We are also proud to have adopted a balanced budget for the 2025-2026 school year, reaffirming our commitment to responsible financial stewardship."

The approved budget and full compensation plan are available on the district website.

“We are excited to provide all of our staff with a well-deserved increase in compensation—they all play critical roles within our district and contribute to the education of our students,” said Superintendent Jason Gilstrap. “This plan strengthens our commitment to retaining and recruiting high-quality teachers and staff, allowing us to maintain a strong team and stay competitive.”
